Measuring the kilt size is very important. No customer wants to wear the wrong size kilt, so accurate measurement is necessary. 1- Measure your Waist Size
You must stay erect with normal breath in order to waist size measurement. Put the measuring tape around your body and placed in the belly button or where you want to fasten the kilt. Well, normally a kilt is always fasten at the belly button but it is by your choice. The kilt has always been 2-4 inches wider than pant size.
2- Measure the Hip Size
Hip measurement is important and you can use the measuring tape to measure the widest part of the hip. In that scenario, you also stand erect for proper hip measurement.
3- Measure the Length Size
In this measurement, you have to place the measuring tape to the waist down to the top knee or where you want the kilt length size. The size of the length varies from person to person. Normally the default length size is 24 inches for men and 20 inches for women.
Making the Pleats
Now, after measuring the size, you have to pleat the kilt. Deep pleat is important for beautiful look of the kilt. You have to calculate each pleat careful and repeat that pattern in a kilt.
